On My Way to Learning Chinese Calligraphy
Almost every child, during the process of learning a certain skill, will have to experience a process from resistance to love. I myself am the best illustration by changing from disliking practicing calligraphy to being devoted to it.
In my childhood, my parents sent me to learn Chinese calligraphy, believing that it could cultivate the mind and make me feel calm. However, things were quite opposite from their expectations. I not only got bored with hours of practice but also doubted about the use of it. Nevertheless, later experience proved that practicing calligraphy is both necessary and beneficial. When I entered high school and buried myself in endless homework, writing calligraphy became a fantastic way for me to relax and get rid of academic tiredness. It was at that time that I realized how important it is to master a certain skill as a leisure activity.
Judging from my own experiences, I want to say a few words to those children who have the same trouble as I once did: do not refuse to learn a skill when you are young and vital, as in the long run you will find it helpful in dismissing tiredness and negative thoughts.
 
On my way to school
As a Senior 3 student, I am punctual for every class but an unexpected thing that happened on my way to school yesterday morning changes it.
It was cold so every pedestrian rushed to their destination, including me. When arriving at the school gate, I found it was 2 minutes before the class began. That was enough for me. I was heading for my classroom when I saw an old man fall down in front of me. Sitting on the frozen floor, the old man looked helpless. Something in my inner heart urged me to help him out without any hesitation and not until his son came did I leave for my classroom. Of course, I was late and missed an important English class but I didn’t regret.
 To be honest, if given another opportunity to make a choice between helping the old man and leaving, I will still choose the former because a world full of love depends on all of us. Only by assisting each other can we enjoy a more pleasant life.

On my way to my dream
Every one of us has a dream and we are on the way to achieving it whether the way is smooth or tough. 
As a Senior 3 student, I have the same dream as my peers that I can be admitted to an ideal university. In the past three years, I have done everything I can to equip myself with what I have learnt from my teachers. Not only have I enjoyed the pleasure of study but also I have got closer to my dream. Of course, occasional anxiety and pressure did discourage me but with the encouragement of my teachers and classmates, I made it. 
I’m clear that I still have a long way to go to achieve my dream. No matter how difficult it will be, I believe if I persist all the time, I will have it come true next June. As the proverb says, “ Where there ’s a will there’s a way.”
