W: Oh, I think so, except for maths and physics. You know it’s impossible for me to do them as well as my English.

M: Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. So what have you bought for mom?

W: I had planned to buy a necklace or a pair of earrings, but they’re too expensive. So I bought her a coat instead.

M: Hi, Jane, where are you going this holiday?

W: I planned to go traveling with my family to Dalian, but recently we changed our mind to go to Lijiang.

M: Great! You know I’ve been dreaming to go to Dali and Lijiang. Will you go by train or by car?

W: Neither, actually. We chose to go by plane. We went to a travel agency last month, and they would get everything ready. And we will set off next Monday.

M: Sounds wonderful. I’m sure you’ll have a good time and really enjoy yourselves.

W: Yes. I hope so.

M: Why are you so unhappy?

W: I quarreled with Lily this morning. 

M: What did you argue about?

W: She borrowed a book from me last week, and promised to return in two days. But she couldn’t find it when I ask for it back today.

M: Well, she shall return it to you on time.

W: Yes, but she got angry too quickly. Maybe she thought I did not trust her.

M: Do you need the book very urgently?

W: I have to finish my paper this weekend. So I need it to look for some information.

M: Well, talk to her about it tomorrow. She probably feels as bad about it as you do.

W: I guess you are right. I should apologize to her.

M: Of course, you should. Don’t let a silly argument ruin a long friendship.

W: Have you finished your work? I want to go shopping. There are lots of things that we need to buy.

M: Well, my work is finished. It’s so hot outside. Why not shop online?

W: Good idea! Let’s make a list first. I need a T-shirt and a dress. You know I will go to Kate’s birthday party next week, and none of my dresses are suitable. Do you need anything? You said you would be on a business trip next week.

M: Oh, I think I need a pair of sunglasses.

W: OK, a pair of sunglasses. Oh, what will our son need during the summer camp? Do you have any idea?

M: You’d better ask him. Here he comes.

M: How is the plan for our mother’s birthday party going?

W: Very well. We started organizing everything early to ensure the party run smoothly. The only thing that isn’t ready yet is the birthday cake.

M: When will that be ready?

W: I will be ready just on the day of her birthday to make sure it’s fresh.

M: Her birthday is in two weeks, so that should be OK. So everything has been well prepared.

W: Yes. What gift will you buy for her? I’ve bought her a coat and your brother Tom will buy her some flowers. Our daughter has made a card.

M: Oh, I’ve collected all the pictures of the family and I plan to make a photo album.

W: Wow, that will be a big surprise for mother!

M: Yes, so which restaurant will the party be held at?

W: The Palace Restaurant. They’ll take care of everything including the birthday cake. I’m sure they will do a good job.

M: Oh, yes. It’s an excellent restaurant. A friend of mine had a wedding ceremony there, and she said it was perfect, though very expensive.

W: Yes, but we think it will be worth it. The people there are all experienced.

M: I think you’ve made the right decision.

   Welcome to the Hong Kong Space Museum! Its construction began in 1977 and it was finished in October 1980. It aims to help the public to learn more about astronomy and space science. The unique egg-shaped roof made it one of the most famous landmarks in Hong Kong. 

The museum consists of two wings — east and west. The former has an egg-shaped bend structure, beneath it are the Hall of Space Science, workshops and offices and so on. The west wing houses consist of the Hall of Astronomy, the Lecture Hall, the gift shop and offices. The museum is also the first museum in the world to possess a fully automatic control system. The museum has two thematic exhibition halls — the Hall of Space Science on the ground floor and the Hall of Astronomy on the first floor. The exhibits mainly interactive enable visitors to learn through a series of entertaining and educational experiences. 

Last but not least, the museum organizes plenty of extension activities each year, including astronomy happy hours, astronomy competitions, lectures and astronomy film shows. You can find more information on the museum’s website.
